With the fan control set to System Controlled from the Sensor menu, iStat Menus will not control fans at all - your Mac’s fans will act as if iStat Menus is not installed.

There are four main modes of fan control in iStat Menus. iStat Menus can’t lower fans below the speed the System Management Controller (SMC) would normally use, but it can raise the fan speeds.

Navigate to the App Store on your Mac -> Updates tab in the sidebar.

Turn off your Mac and then press and hold the Control, Option (Alt), and Shift keys on the built-in keyboard.

Note: You can’t reset the SMC on an M1 Mac MacBooks with T2 Chip Therefore, resetting it can help you resolve certain issues related to fans, power, and more. SMC (stands for System Management Controller) controls several key components such as battery management, lighting settings, power button response, and more.

Continue to hold these keys until your Mac restarts and the startup sound is heard again.Ĩ.

Turn off your Intel-based Mac and turn it on.
